Dartanyan T. Jamerson was born into, baptized, and raised at the Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle in Flint, MI under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. A.J. Pointer, and a village of amazing people. He accepted his call to the ministry in 1998 during an intercessory prayer session at the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church in Flint MI, where his godfather, the late Bishop Odis A. Floyd was Pastor. Since 1995, Pastor Jamerson has faithfully served the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International in many capacities. Today he serves as the International General Overseer of Children and Youth where he is excited to help the Full Gospel Baptist Church fellowship International continue to SHIFT to the next plateau of cutting edge Kingdom work.
Known affectionately as “Pastor DJ”, he is the founder of DTJ Ministries where his mission has been to mentor youth and young adults from ages 6 – 35 while also serving every generation of the local church for more than 28 years. Through his community advocacy, mentorship, and ministry, Pastor Jamerson has helped more than 300 young men and women graduate high school. To date, 172 of them have earned Bachelor’s Degrees; 8 have earned Masters; and 2 have earned Doctoral Degrees, while many entered the military, and others have earned skill trade certifications. He has counseled countless families, children, parents, and young adults. He has also assisted numerous Senior Pastors and various members of senior church leadership in bettering their ministry strategies for serving their overall congregations and communities.
Pastor Jamerson holds an Associates of Arts Degree and Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Leadership & Ministry from Grace Bible College, and a Master’s Degree in Ministry (Theology) from Grace Christian University. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, and a brand ambassador for Bedrock Apparel based in his hometown of Flint, MI.
He is the proud husband to Lady Shawnta’, father to Jasmine and twin brother Justin, Dartanyan Jr., and Christian.
